With PedAlert, the weight placed on the lower limb is constantly monitored. A warning tone alerts the patient if the
prescribed weight threshold is exceeded. PedAlert provides continuous feedback to help teach weight-bearing compliance.
Ideal for patients with hip fractures, hip or knee replacements, foot ulcers, and many other conditions that require
weight-bearing limitation or weight-transfer training.
How PedAlert Works
PedAlert is easy to use and can be fully operational in minutes:
Place the cast shoe over the patient's foot, shoe or cast
Use a floor scale to set the prescribed weight-bearing threshold
As the patient walks, PedAlert monitors the weight placed on the foot
A warning tone indicates that the prescribed weight threshold is exceeded
Two models available: Model 100 monitors the force placed on the entire foot; Model 120 adds independent
monitoring of the forefoot and heal in addition to the entire foot monitoring
